Become a member
On this page, you’ll find all the information on how to become a youth member.
Join for three free trial sessions
If you’d like to become a member, you can attend three free trial sessions first. During these sessions, you’ll participate in all activities and get your first introduction to Scouting and the group. After three weeks, you decide if you’d like to join. Once you’ve been a member for a few months, you’ll be officially installed and allowed to wear your Scoutfit. At that moment, you truly become part of the group!
Membership
Membership begins on the registration date, while the membership fee starts from the next calendar quarter.
Scouting Nederland
As a member of Scouting LBP, you automatically become a member of Scouting Nederland. This entitles you to receive the Scouting Magazine four times a year and enjoy special offers at the Scoutshop. For more information about Scouting in the Netherlands, visit www.scouting.nl.
Weekly attendance
As a member, the leaders expect you to attend every meeting. If you’re unable to attend, notify your speltak leaders as soon as possible. Members are expected to wear a Scoutfit blouse as soon as possible. Once you’re officially installed, you’ll wear a complete Scoutfit to every meeting.
Membership fees and other costs
The membership fee for Scouting LBP is the same for all speltakken and is €43.00 per quarter. Each quarter, one-fourth of the annual membership fee is due. Members authorize automatic payment for the membership fee, which is debited around the 27th of January, April, July, and October. In exceptional cases, it is possible to pay via an invoice by contacting the treasurer. Note that an administrative fee of €5 will be added to each invoice. Membership fees can only be terminated after canceling with the speltak and the membership administration.
Contributions for weekend activities and any additional costs are paid in cash to the respective speltak. Payments for summer camps are made via bank transfer.
For questions about the membership fee and camp contributions, contact penningmeester@scoutinglbp.nl.
Keeping costs low
To keep membership fees as low as possible, the group organizes various fundraising activities (e.g., the Jantje Beton Collection). Some of these activities rely on the help of children and/or parents/guardians, so we kindly ask for occasional extra involvement outside the regular meetings. The speltak leaders will provide timely information about such activities.
Financial support for membership costs
Stichting Leergeld
We would like to inform you about the options available through Stichting Leergeld. This foundation provides parents/guardians with a minimum income (based on specific criteria) the opportunity to enroll their children in a (scouting) association by contributing to the costs, including the aforementioned additional expenses. Families interested in this support can contact Stichting Leergeld at 013-5801211 or visit www.leergeldtilburg.nl.
Meedoenregeling by the Municipality of Tilburg
Tilburg residents can participate in enjoyable, educational, or healthy activities, including Scouting, even with a limited budget. If you have a minimum income, you may qualify for the Meedoenregeling, which you must apply for with the municipality. Once eligible, your partner and children living at home (up to 17 years old) can also choose from various activities, each with their own budget. Redeeming the Meedoenregeling for Scouting Lord Baden-Powell membership is straightforward. For more information and specific conditions, visit www.tilburg.nl/meedoenregeling.
